Life
IN HIGH SCHOOL, YOU KNEW ME AS: "him."
I've been a piper, a puppet, a pirate, a poet, a pawn, and a king -- sorry, that was Sinatra.
Briefly, was in radio and TV immediately after college, in Buffalo, then returned to journalism and to New York. Was a magazine editor/writer for several years before falling into writing books 22 years ago. I've written 17 to date; wife Patty has written 24, including 3 best-sellers, thus making me underachiever of household. Work at home, which is heavenly. Wardrobe consists primarily of shorts and sweatpants, and when I have to train it into Manhattan for the occasional meeting, it requires preparation equivalent to that of an astronaut getting ready to go up in the Space Shuttl...Expand for more

Married 27 years, but given that we both work at home, have probably spent the equivalent of 250 dog years together. Have sweet 16-year-old son, Justin, a.k.a. The Justinator, Justino, the Justin Mon. Best part about working at home is getting to spend so much time with Justin, who has Asperger's syndrome -- a mild form of autism -- and being extremely involved with his school. (Special-ed teachers: the best!) With the help of many others, he's doing well and is one happy little dude. Nothing comes easy for him -- he also suffers from multiple learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, or as we like to say, a little bit of dys and dat) -- but he never gives up, and eventually he succeeds. He's my hero.
