Philip Diegidio:

CLASS OF 1968
Upper darby, PA

Philip's Story

Went into the Air Force after High School. A true Techno Geek. But it served me well. I am still working with Electronics. Some cool, some old. Married 2 times. 3 kids with the 1st, 1 with the 2nd. Still married. I think I finally figured it out. I just keep my mouth shut. I have 4 Grand Children. 3 of them are in Indiana, 1 is here locally. He gets the good stuff. I do my Grand Pop stuff well. I spin him up...........I send him home. I like it, he likes it. I have a big Golden Retriever that keeps me company. He is our third since living here. We have been here in GlenMoore, PA for 25+ years now. Our Daughter Julia was lucky enough to go to the same school system from start to finish. She is the best for me. Julia is also in the Air Force now.....and loves it. She flies on some pretty important aircraft. I couldn't be prouder. I work in the Harrisburg area so my daily drive sucks. 76 miles each way. But hey.... it's a job. I work on a Military facility, so I am pretty happy with that. Besides, being an old guy is a good thing with what I do. Some of these kids have never even seen some of this stuff. I'm hoping this will last until I hit the magic 66. Could be a push though. It will be tough to find another job that pays this well and is closer to home. Nobody wants an old over paid guy. But I'm sure most of you kn...Expand for more
ow that. My wife does work, but as a consultant/teacher her work is up and down. Certainly not enough to keep us status quo. For those of you who still live in the Upper Darby area I say.........how did you do it? I live in rural Chester County..........and even that has too many people in it for me. I play Golf, cut the grass, fix everything, listen to a lot of music, bang on my Guitar a lot, and watch the Phillies. Not too bad. My wife and I take hikes with our Dog. He likes it, we like it, helps keep us from getting terribly sedate. I'm sure you know the drill. I've done well. I think I beat the odds with a work career, and I didn't go to College.........even though my Air Force technical training was more than a college degree. Unfortunately we didn't get credit for it back then like they do now. My Daughter has over 40 college credits so far just from her Air Force training. She will have her degree before she gets out. And that was her plan. And it was FREE. And she gets paid while doing it. And travels the world. Not too shabby. OK.....enough for me. I am in pretty good health, still able to run, and can still throw a baseball over 60mph. You can thank the Dog for that. It's an everyday thing. Play Ball!! For those of you who have read this.....I wish you well and Peace with your daily grind. Peace to All!
