Philip's Story
I was pretty much into politics at Patrick Henry, working for McGovern and against the war. After Patrick Henry, I lived in Berkeley for a few years where I graduated from the University of California in political science and development economics. Most weekends were spent in Santa Cruz with my girlfriend, Chris, and other friends. ed in 1982, but regrettably parted ways in 1990. Between those years, though, we lived in Manhattan where I worked for the Chase Manhattan Bank and Chris taught ESL, and in Bogota, Colombia, where I headed the Chase credit team. In 1985, I joined the Treasury at Asian Development Bank in Manila, where I looked after fixed income and currency positions. Over the years, I also headed Treasury risk, guarantees and syndications, Pacific operations and Project/Capital Market finance. I still live in Manila with my partner Clare and our 12 year old daughter. Clare is a triathelete and I train regularly by biking and swimming. I still hike a fair amount, and just returned from a week of hiking in Georgia, northeast of Tbilisi, near the Dagastan and Chechnyan borders.. February 2018 Update: I have moved on from the Philippines, but remain in southeast asia. I now divide my time between Singapore and Barcelona.
