Philip's Story
Life
After graduating from high school (Francis Lewis) in 1965, I felt the urge to see what life was like outside of New York. I graduated from Iowa in 1970 with a BA in Business. During the summer hiatus in the late 1960s I worked at Lincoln Center. Upon graduation, I realized that NY simply was not for me, and was surprised to find that my folks were ready for a change also (my dad used to own the liquor store on Fresh Meadow Lane). He sold the business and in 1971 we all moved to Arizona. I worked for a time at Arizona Title in Phoenix, but in late 1972 I received an offer to work for the Defense Department (Navy) in Ventura County CA for triple the salary to start - I couldn't turn that down!

spare parts for weapons systems for the Fleet. In 1997, like many others I'm sure, I tired of the frequent travel and was fortunate to receive an early retirement - full pension with bonus for "early out". In early 1998, with my mom seriously ill, I moved back to Arizona, something I have never regretted. I owe much to my father - we got involved in the stock market in the early 1980s and I simply don't have to work anymore, although if I found something I enjoyed I certainly wouldn't turn it down. I own a Spanish villa-style home (swimming pool, indoor garden, etc., my dream home) in a Phoenix suburb. I enjoy sports, travel, cars, music and much more. I'd enjoy hearing from those who might remember me (a scrawny kid with big ears in my youth, but scrawny no more, lol).
