Philip's Story
Hi
You might remember me as the shortest guy in our class. I lived on Milburn St, went to 23 School, and had Mr Arine for homeroom. I have many fond memories of my days at Monroe where I sharpened my sense of humor, people skills, and an appreciation for education.
Post Monroe, I undergraduated from U of R in 1968 and got a doctorate in Applied Math at Brown in 1972. My first job was in Buffalo where I worked as a biostatistician for two national cancer clinical trials cooperative groups. Our group moved to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School in 1977 where I did medical research, taught, and wrote papers. In 1983, I founded a statistical consulting company that grew into an international contract research organization (Aptiv Solutions) with 850 employees situated in offices all around the ...Expand for more
world. You might recognize the following products like Lipitor, EMLA creme, PSA, CA-125, SAHARA, Cologuard, Mobi-C, and 75 more where I was the lead biostatistician. I still work full-time at my not-for-profit research foundation, strategic consulting company, and Swiss investment advisory company. I turned 76 in November. Still enjoy helping clients gain FDA approvals, get funding, and being a master strategist involving medicine, regulatory, and statistics. This has allowed me to travel extensively. No plans to retire.
On the personal side, met my wife while in Providence RI, now married for over 50 years with two children (46 yo son and 42 yo daughter, no grandchildren). Our daughter Abby played Brad Cooper's fiancee (Diane) in American Hustle. We live in Framingham MA, Mashpee MA, and West Palm Beach FL.
