Philip's Story
Joined the US Army in 74, served in El Paso, TX for almost 2 years, then over to Buedingen, Germany till 79. Met my wife Barbara in Germany, married in 79 then moved to Kokomo,IN for 2 years of College at IUK. Relocated to Germany in 1981, started training as a Pianomaker, graduating in 1984 from Ludwigsburg school of Pianomaking. My wife and I have 4 Children Benjamin, David, Sarah and Hannah. All 4 are real Germans, and are either in College or gonna be soon, our oldest son just finished a 3 year training as a cook.
I ve been self-employed since 1987 as a piano technician, doing tuning, repairs, overhauls, and sales of pianos. It is a wonderful profession with lots of people contact and every day is a little different depending on what tuning jobs are coming in, or what overhauls are waiting on me for some...Expand for more

My Hobbies have mostly to do with airplanes, a hobby I developed in my teen years. I fly R/C model planes, belong to a club having lots of fun living out my youth, over and over again. In 2005 I got my private pilots liscense, while on a prolonged visit to Kokomo, and fly in the US when I am there. (by the way, flying models is harder than flying the real ones). My other passion is playing the piano, got started as a kid (5) and play daily with a growing passion.
In 2008 my father passed away, and I took over his business
"Templin Barber Shop" on Philips St. in Kokomo. I ve never had any training as a barber, but I run the business by phone and Internet with lots of help from my brother Greg(financial manager)and Dave Hess who does the property management.
