Hmmmmm...this story is even hard for me to make any sense of but here goes...
>Moved to California '67 made it to Haight for the infamous "summer". Lived in LA - roadied for The Doors, first gig was the "infamous" riot in '69 Miami...the one Oliver Stone misrepresented in the Doors Movie. The truth is>>> he equipment manager and myself grabbed Jim by the back of his leather pants SO THAT he didn't jump off the stage. Otherwise the crowd would have devoured him!! ...'nuff said....'bout that incident.
> Moved back to ATL after the Doors gig. Opened 'Seriously Leather' store near Lennox Sq. Historical points - I made that famous guitar strap w/ the big ring for Duanne Allman. An x-roadie sold it on Ebay 5 years ago for $10,000 (now in the Hard Rock Collection). They used a leather store in Fla to falsely authenticate it!
Left ATL because of the draft....
>Moved to Australia '70 - played in various groups, recorded album '73...exhibited as an artist...stayed there 4 years..almost became citizen till the "Ford pardon" was announced.
>'74 Moved to Bali, Indonesia...started batik manufacturing in Java for surf companies like Billabong, Ocean Pacific, Quicksilver.....amazing place in ...Expand for more
those days....not NOW!
>Moved to India '78 stayed 4 years...hmmm....lived in several places there including Tibet.... its all a bit of a blur....but India is India...nothing else like it.
>Cut-splice...moved to Paris...funny 2 southern boys (Jim Morrison and ) had a special "Thang" with that special city! There I had an x-files type event and started work on a Tarot deck made of montaged images of statues and buildings found all over the city. It took me 20 years to complete but was published in 2002 by St.Martin's Press NY. Its titled Tarot de Paris and can be Googled.
>Ugh....then back to Bali for a few years.....and then Japan for 3 years...
>Then finally settled in Maui, Hawaii on a beautiful North Shore property. My wife - of 25 years- is Japanese and we raised 2 kids here. Both are now living in New York. Our son founded a digital marketing company and our daughter is a recording engineer/musician.
>I still travel to Japan twice a year where I started a school of Tarot 5 years ago. That has since expanded into more consciousness based courses. I have also authored several books in Japanese.
>Back in Maui (now a 22 year resident: I recently started a company(HAND Guitars)making custom electric guitars that debut at the Nashville Guitar show June/2010.
