Philip's Story
Life
I am married for 20 plus years in spite of myself. I have 4 children. Two my wife had from her first marriage and two from me. All but one out of the house and they have brought more back with them to visit. Several more. I am active at the church I grew up in with my journey in faith always taking turns for challenges. Katrina visited my house with three foot of water. After the rebuild and remodel things are great. Met lots of good folks that helped. I can do IV's, Give drugs, shock your heart and put a tube in your lungs to breath for you. I do not do sheetrock. God knew this and sent help. Lots of it.
Life is good and not boring. If you are bored call me and I can give you something to do. hehe. :)PT

go to school and become a Paramedic. Tried nursing school but treated my patients too aggressively. Got to get permission to do that from the doctor. As a paramedic we already have it. So we just do it. Now I teach the doctors and nurses in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Kinda neat. NO...just because they are a doctor does not mean they know what to do. :)PT
Workplace
I started working in EMS while in college and felt like it was my niche. I have been in it since 1980 and currently work as a Paramedic. I also own a independent company that provides classes in basic and advanced life support to the public and medical professionals. This has included cross country travel. Wow. I am a member of a Federal Disaster Medical Assistance Team based in Mobile, Al. Lots of travel there in the hurricane seasons. I serve as the Training Officer and Paramedic. I love the work and a chance to meet interesting people in interesting situations.
