Phillip's Story
Life
I have left my job at a large ranch.
Where I worked as the resident
horticulturist / botanist / Foreman for the past seventeen years.
We had cattle, horses, including wild mustangs
and donkeys. Total of over two hundred head.
Including helping with the live stock,
I managed a large greenhouse and extensive twenty three acre yard.
If it conducts photosynthesis, it was my responsibility.
The ranch is covered in uncut woodlands, with a fresh water creek, that runs through it.
We had five large pastures, a large lake, and two large ponds.
( Great fishing )
It all had to be managed, maintained and protected.
It gets hot in the summer, and freezes in the winter.
And yes, I loved it here.
I bought some land of my own, North West of this area. I...Expand for more
n 2004
It has taken a few years to clear the pastures, But I have left all the old stands of trees. It has tons of deer, wild hogs, and coyotes.
Not to mention, rattle snakes and scorpions.
In the spring here it is not many places that I would rather be.
The wild flowers are as thick as carpet, and the birds are deafening.
It is like going to Heaven in the spring.
Although August is like what the other place feels like.
It really gets hot. 100+.... lol
As of October 2007, I was promoted to Ranch Foreman. So everything is my responsibility. Even the weather....lol
Update:
5-12-2009. I have finished the house,
and moved to Iola, Texas.
I can finally devote more time to the new place, and my Shepherds. I have been looking forward to this forever...
