Phillip's Story

I graduated Crawford in '61, attended college for a few years in San Diego and in a small town in Michigan. In late 1967 I began a 19+ year career with Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA). I left PSA in early '87 a few months before the company was bought by USAir and several months later I operated a brand new Limo company for 2 years (Fifth Avenue Limo, located on Fifth Avenue in Hillcrest), then went to work with City of San Diego where I retired in March, 2010 after 19+ year career. I adopted my son in 2002 which totally changed my life and now I guess I'll have to live to age 100 in order to catch up with my former '61 classmates, many of whom are already Grandparents, possibly even Great -Grandparents. :) Last September (2011) my son & I moved...Expand for more
to Independence, MO (my parent's original hometown, as well as Harry Truman's, and location of his Presidential Library) and are living a completely new life adventure. Independence is located just 12-13 miles east of downtown Kansas City and we're having a great time checking out what this area has to offer. My son attends college here and we travel quite a bit, a pleasure in life which I learned to appreciate and enjoy in my PSA days. I'm disappointed to have missed Crawford's 50th Reunion Gala but I ordered the CD and thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces from long ago. It certainly brought back a multitude of memories, If anyone from my Crawford era remembers this totally SHY GUY, drop me a line.....I'd enjoy hearing from you. Phil

Denny, age 3, posing on the right. Taken in his birthplace of Independence, Missouri.
This is one of my very favorite photo's here in my current home; it was most likely taken in the 1940's.
Denny and his Hoover High School girlfriend Audrey. Denny played Varsity football at Hoover, and Audrey was a cheerleader.
This photo was taken on their return from their Senior graduation school get-away in Palm Springs.
