Phillip's Story
Went in to the Navy in fall of 1962 going to Great Lakes training center for 3 mths school after school.Reciev- ed orders to USS Biddle DDG5 home port Norfolk Va.spent a year went to Mediterranean for 6 mths.Afther we returned the Ship was picked for a NATO Mixed Manning Demonstration They went thru the crew (350 sailors) and asked about 70 if we would stay. I had to add a year to my active duty.I did and sailors from 6 other NATO countries came on board and made up the crew for 18 mths.Also the ships name was changed (frist time done)to the USS Claude V. Ricketts DDG5. Got out in Dec.1965.

f six guys to start in Oct.1966 and spent the next 35 years there.
A few things happened over that time.I had 2 mustang conv. 1 corvett and a nice boat.
Then I meet a veary nice girl thru a coworker's girlfriend from the Buffalo area.This Gril was named Ronna and we were married 1972 and were for about 15 years but doto resons ended. we had two sons Adam and Danniel,they are now 35 and 33.Adam is married and I have 3 grandson they are 5,3 and 1. All boys here they are the love of my life.
I have had campers sense 1978 mostly motorhomes.The boys and I camped all there growing up years. We did see a lot of country,From Maine too Florida.
After retiring in 1/2001 I sold all and hit the road fulltime and did that for 9 years. I been living back here and spoiling my grandson.
