Phyllis's Story
After High School I graduated from a business school in OKC, married and worked Durwood's last two years of college. One son, Greg, was born at OSU, with three others (Bennett, Reid, and David)over the following years. I have three granddaughters, Scottie 30, and Alexandra 8, and Abigail 2..
Durwood's degree in Chem. Engr. took us, first to Lake Jackson TX with DOW Chemical, then to Magnolia, AR, Ludington, MI, back to L.J., Clear Lake (NASA) and then back to L.J., once more, where he died of a heart attack, Jan 22, 1992, nine days before he was to retire. ove it out there.
While in Magnolia I received my nursing degree and spent most of my 30 years as a newborn/NICU RN, retiring in 2002. After retirement, I joined Loners on Wheels (LoWs) and became an avid RVer. Last summer I bought a little house on Lake Michigan in Ludington, MI, and spend a month or so up there every summer... Maybe more as years go by. I love the summers, but not the winters.
I am not as quiet and reserve as I was in school. I love Karaoke, and even sang some in Pueto Penasco, MX a couple of years. Our 50th reunion is this year and I hope to see as many of our classmates as can make it. Maybe I'll sing for you...maybe not... Thank you for reading my little story, and I hope you will leave one of your own, so we can catch up with what is going on with you.
