Phyllis's Story
I went to college and law school in upstate New York (Syracuse U for Law School). I married and divorced all within the same year after law school! I practiced law in Washington, DC at Arnold & Porter; while there I met my current husband in the hallway. He happened to be there on business.
We married in 1985 - he is a tall Texan and I moved to Houston when we got married. I have two children (Becca, born 1987 and Sam, born 1990). Becca will be a senior at Vanderbilt U and Sam is about to be ...Expand for more

We have a ranch property a few hours from Houston and have horses and cattle -- a far cry from New Jersey
I was a partner at 2 lawfirms in Houston beginning in 1986, and happily retired in about 2003, and have been enjoying spending more time with family.
Just finished my 2d term on the City Council (we live in a separate city within the city of Houston), and am the Board Chair of a non-profit community health care clinic.
My husband is a CPA, with an international practice.
