LIFE I work as a copyeditor at the University of Rochester and for (585) magazine. I have been married for 34 years this May and have two sons, 32 and 27. We live in an older home in the Park Avenue neighborhood of Rochester, N.Y. Backing up . . . I started life in Batavia, N.Y. in the now-defunct St. Jerome Hospital. (BTW, Genesee Hospital in Rochester, where I gave birth to my children, has also closed.) Lived in LeRoy till I was 7. Moved to Batavia and graduated from high school there. Went off to college at RIT. Spent 5 years there 'cause I changed my major partway through. Graduated, worked for a year, then headed West on my Grand Adventure. Enjoyed about 8 months working as a desk clerk at the Grand Canyon. Left there in December 1981 and spent a couple of months touring California. Came back to Rochester and worked at a variety of jobs in the printing industry and in marketing. The next eight years or so were one big party. Got married in 1989 and finally settled down. In 1990, my husband and I moved from the suburbs to the city and had our first child the following year. Thing Two was born in 1996.
