Phyllis's Story
since graduating from high school I've spent most of my life on the streets fighting crime as a police officer. after 25yrs on the street i decided to go in a different direction. i went to truck driving school and drove an 18 wheeler for 4 yrs. i am now again back into law enforcement. i just recently joined the Tulsa County Sheriffs Department. just could not stay away from that vocation. once it's in your blood......you're hooked. TCSO will be featured in the reality show "Inside America's Jail" on court tv starting in feb/08. pretty wild. I am a member of St Jerome's Church in Tulsa where i am a lay assistant(give communion). Terry Miller;a 1971 NHS alum is also a member of this church.(It is a small world). I also work for Tulsa County Expo Square security(fair grounds) and get to see people from Nowata all the time. It is so cool to see people i haven't seen since graduation but can still recognize them.(never forget a face) ...Expand for more
I am also an active member of Small Paws Rescue. we rescue and buy out all "Bichon Frise" dogs and puppies from back yard breeders and puppy mills;nurse them back to health and then foster & adopt them out to their new families/forever homes. I would have to say that the one thing i miss the most about school is participating in Band. That was the most fun. I really enjoy watching the Drum & Bugle Corp competions and going to Ohio to see the BDBITL(best damn band in the land). The Ohio State Buckeyes Band. The jam sessions before a game and the then the band performing a"script" OHIO on the field with a senior tuba player dotting the I. Really Awesome. My passion is still working with people and animals; but my latest passion is riding my motor cycle;weather permitting of course. animals M
