Pina's Story
Howdy with a big smile on my face. Yes, it's been too long ...
Well, after graduating from ACI, and I have to say, my tenure in high school bored me to smithereens. Tenure in the sense, it seemed like 10 years! ACI gave me wonderful opportunites & moments as in wonderful people, both students and instructors. But that academic format, it was the most boring thing I have ever experienced in my entire 51 years of life!!! Jesus, Mother Mary & Joseph, I can almost remember every day. It was similar to the movie "Ground Hog's Day". It just kept repeating itself!!!
Boredom finally ended. I earned a bachelor's and post graduate degree. Lived in Tuscany Italy and Germany for a while. Travelled most countries in Europe, east Russia, west Middle East countries, north Africa, Mexico, Columbia, Argentina, Caribbean (of course with these winters), Hawaii, Japan and Hong Kong.
Of course, fell in and out of love. No children. No pity, please. Remember I'm Italian. It's a sport for us and yes, GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP counts. I have no regrets.
After a few jobs, I landed myself in a great organization which treats me with respect and faith and expects the same back from me. My job is more than a career, it's a passion. Of course, if I were considerably richer, I could do without the stress! :)
I currently still live in Scarborough but no longer in Agincourt. I now live in Highland Creek, a short walk from Ted's Amazing Restaurant, Shamrock Burgers and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

en inside also. I can say this. KIDS ARE DIFFERENT TODAY. Remember the deviant highlights of our time, a bomb threat during exams, Freddy streaking across the assembly stage, someone got punched in the nose in the smoking area, defacing Woburn C.I. with spray paint over a football or hockey game. But good ole Sarge (our Vice Principle, Mr. J.A. Larke) was on top of it. And how he would always smile at us once the matter was dealt.
The actual ACI building is different also. If you stand facing the front of the school, it looks a little run down. The last time I was there, weeds about 2-3 feet high were growing down the length of the front. Definitely not "Sarge" (V.P. Larke) standards. We were very lucky back then!
I ran into ACI math teacher Mr. Haehnel in the late 1990's/early 2000's. I was in his class for grade 11 mathematics in that cold portable during school year 1974-1975. He was the VP at West Hill C.I. and recognized me instantly. He's now retired.
I have priliminary plans to go to mainland China in 2010/2011, hopefully for Chinese New Year. I'd like to return to Japan as I was not prepared to appreciate it back then. I am currently considering retirement within the next 8 to 10 years ... hopefully!
I keep myself busy with work, piano, crossword/jigsaw puzzles, collect china, teapots, cookie jars, upkeep on house and garden, I love to fuss on Sunday lunch (traditional Italian pasta) and Sunday dinner, travel to Italy 1-3 times yearly.
Well, that's it for now. I'll come back later and add more.
