Celso's Story
Life
I married my wife Caridad in 1978 and after graduating from CCNY in 1981 we moved to Connecticut to start my working career.
We lived in Groton Long Point, then Mystic where my oldest daughter Lucia was born in 1982. Later in 1985 we moved to our first house in Gales Ferry where Elena was born in 1986 and later in 1990, my son Celso was born.
In 1991 after getting tired of designing and building submarines for a living I packed my mule (a 1984 Jimmy and trailer) and moved to Miami where we presently live. It took us 7 days to get here but we did get to see a lot of nice places.
I would like to hear from past friends, classmates, co-workers or anyone whom I knew, specially from Avenue J and 16 street, Kings Highway and those now gone by drag racing days in Brooklyn (boy do I miss my '69 Chevelle 396 SS. Ask Mitchel Zellman how fast that thing was).
School
My biggest crush was actually Lia Chasen my Spanish teacher. Why I was in her class, I could never figure out. As a recent immigrant from Cuba, I spoke perfect Spanish, it was English I couldn't speak!

nd Ms. Hyland for all you did for me, but by far my biggest inspiration came from Mr. K (Kopelowitz). Without his advice, counceling and frienship I would have never made it through school. If you are out there Mr. K, thank you for caring, you made the difference! And for that I am forever greatful.
If some of you remember some shy student in class saying "sorry, no speak English", that was probably me!
College
After graduating from Midwood in 1974 I attended NYC Comunity College and Kingsborough Comunity College in Brooklyn for a couple of years and finally settled in City College (CCNY) where I graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Workplace
While attending college I worked at Grillo's sea food on Newkirk Ave & East 16th street as a truck driver (Hi Andy).
After graduating from CCNY I went to work for General Dynamics in Connecticut, then after moving to Florida I have worked as Chief Engineer for Aqua Air Manufacturing, Design Engineer for Techno Mgmt and project manager for Johnson Controls, Johnson & Johnson, York International and presently for Trane.
