Jae's Story
Life
After graduation, I went to work in the oilfield service industry while going to Kilgore College. I married Poppy Kennimer in June 1990 and we now have 3 kids. I went to the Kilgore College Fire Academy and went to work as a Firefighter/EMT to put Poppy through school. I became a Paramedic in 1993, and worked in that capacity, full time until 1998, and PT until 2000. In 1996, after Poppy finished her degree at UT, I went back to school and attended LeTourneau University, receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. I went to work for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and ran multiple Wal-Mart Stores around East Texas until moving to Pennsylvania in 2001. t to work for The Boyds Collection, Ltd., manufacturer of Boyds Bears, in Gettysburg, PA. For 2 years, I was the General Manager of their Flagship Location there. In 2006, I left the Boyds Collection. I also was the General Manager of Gander Mountain, the nations largest Outdoor Sports Chain. I did not enjoy retail from day one, and after a health scare, I went to work for Edward Jones. It is something I have wanted to do for several years, but changing fields took the push of facing my mortality. I am very happy with the decision. I have 3 kids. My oldest daughter is currently a Sophomore in H.S. My oldest son is in 6thgrade, and my youngest son is 2 (oops). We live in Upstate New York near the Finger Lakes. Summers are fabulous and fall is unbelievably beautiful.
