Kathryn's Story
Life
I went to Del Rosa Elementary from 1971 - 1978, then went to Del Vallejo in 1979, from 1980 - 1981 I went to Inland Christian School. My Sophomore and Junior year were spent at Pacific High School. I ended up graduating from San G. because they closed Pacific. From there I went to CSUSB and dropped out in my Sophomore year. I moved to Orange County in 1986. Later I went back to school and graduated from CSU Long Beach in 1991 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management and human resource management. I have spent much of my career in management and HR. I am currently a manager with the State of Nevada.
Personally, I spent my early adulthood helping raise my brothers two children, Denise and Darrell. I also had my own child, Tyler in 1988 when single parenthood was still taboo. I was transferred with my job up to Northern California in 1994. I married in 1998 and moved to upstate NY. My daughter Emily was born in 2001. I divorced in 2002 and moved back to Southern Califonia. My niece Denise died the day after my divorce became final which really threw me into a tailspin. I decided I needed a complete change of scene so I moved to...Expand for more
Las Vegas where I currently live with my two children.
I have changed a lot over the years. I used to be a wild, party girl living each day as if it was my last. I never expected to live past young adulthood so I never really made plans for the future. Once the responsibilities of my brothers children came into my life and having my own child, I decided that I better come up with a plan. I went back to college and quit the party life. I am pretty satisfied with what I have made of my life. I am authentic and content. Darell and Tyler have turned out to be awesome people. My daughter Emily is on her way as well.
I do have a few regrets, as I am sure we all do. I wish that I had kept up with more people. I also wish that I wasn't so silly and shallow in my youth. There are many that I wish I had been more real with. There are feelings I have hurt that I am sorry for. I did waste a good portion of my youth disrespecting myself and others. Thankfully, I picked up some wisdom along the way that has helped find the contentment that I enjoy today.
I hope I hear from some of my long lost friends. If you are one of them, shoot me an email and let's catch up.
