William's Story

Life Since graduating I served in the Navy, moved to San Diego (where I worked as a driving instructor), moved to Los Angeles (where I worked as a Drivers Ed teacher, got married, and switched to a career in high-tech), and eventually found my way to Massachusetts. I've been back here since 1983 and have had a very successful career in the technology sector. Until early 2007, I was an IT Director for a Fortune 500 multinational, but left to own my own business. An avid car enthusiast, I (with my wife) own and operate House of Wheels, a retail auto, van, and truck accessories store in Auburn, MA. A year after leaving the corporate world, my old company made the proverbial offer I couldn't refuse to come back and train college hires on the combination of IT, bu...Expand for more
siness, and sales skills. So I'm back in corporate America and my wife runs the store during the week. I'm still married to my first wife (seems worth noting these days) and have two children. My daughter, now 22, is an artist, author, and musician (electric guitar) with one original song, 3 unpublished novels, and a portfolio of original art to her credit. She is attending Framingham State (Sophomore/Junior due to switching majors this year). My son, now 20, recently competed in the U.S. Men's Gymnastics Junior Olympics in Cincinatti, OH, finishing 53rd in the country on parallel bars. He attends Fitchburg State as a Manufacturing Engineering major in his sophomore year (2012-13). Yup, I'm a proud Dad bragging about his kids. What can I say? Life is good!
