Preston's Story
Life
My wife, Dail, and I live in Spartanburg, SC. We have been in this area since 1977. We have one son, Garrett, who is now 31 years old and also lives in the area. He married a young lady from Columbia, SC, on June 21, 2008. Dail has been teaching for 36 years in the Florida & South Carolina school systems. I have worked for Milliken & Co. since we returned to the Carolinas in 1977 and retired on in January 30, 2009. After working on my 'Honey Do' list for nine months I went back to work with TCi Tire Centers. I filled a newly created position in their Commercial Tire Division as an Inventory Analyst. I work with our 60+ centers across the United States. Garrett is a Manager for Adidas and Frankie is a teacher. Dail & I enjoy our yard work and taking weekend trips into the Carolina mountains (usually Blowing Rock). I still enjoy my baseball & stay close to it through working with a local high school team in the fall and have attended the Los Angeles Dodgers Adult Baseball Camp in Vero Beach, Florida in February ...Expand for more
2004 & 2006. Dail says that I am done and can't go anymore but I think that I have one more camp left in me when I turn 60 (even after 2 knee surgeries plus rotator cuff surgery). I take it very serious and usually spend about 6-8 months getting ready for the week long camp. It is not your typical vacation as it is a very physical and intense week but I really enjoy it. Dail goes and gets a kick out of watching us 'old' guys thinking that we are still young and can still play. We are pet people and currently have a chocolate lab (12 years old) plus a cat that we adopted. We have decided that these will be the last of the pets as we want to travel in our retirement. All of my family still lives in Florida (Titusville & Pompano Beach) and we get back there about once a year to visit. I do not see us ever living back down there as we enjoy this area very much. If you are ever in the upstate of South Carolina please look us up. We have plenty of room and live on a neighborhood lake. It is very peaceful and relaxing !!!
