Prissy's Story
Life
After graduating from Ozark I attended Arkansas Tech, where I met my future husband, Roger. We married in 1971 and I continued my education at Tech and then at Michigan State University for my Masters in Music Performance. Roger and I moved to Tennessee upon my graduation where he taught at Tennessee Tech and I taught private music lessons, performed in a chamber trio, and taught part time at Carson Newman College in eastern Tennessee. Roger and I both performed at Opryland in Nashville, playing in a pit orchestra. This prompted a move to Nashville where I continued private instruction and Roger elected to learn music instrument repair. He was offered a position with the Louisiana State University Band Department in 1979 and we moved to Baton Rouge. I continued to perform in Nashville at Opryland for the next 4 years (talk about a commute!!!). When home in Baton Rouge I had a quartet that played for parties and weddings and I rode horses everyday - a life long passion that had been fueled by my time in Tennessee. I finally decided to settle down and since Baton Rouge wasn't the music hub Nashville was, I decided to change careers. I went into real estate in 1983 and haven't regretted it once! I still continued performing for years but as success in real estate came, there has been little time for any outside interests. I have had the #1 RE/MAX Real Estate Team for Baton Rouge and for the state of Louisiana many times.

my team.
I still perform but only on my flute and you have to seek me out or be at Broadmoor Methodist Church when the flute choir performs!
I go to rock and roll concerts as much as possible and see my favorite guitar player, Steve Vai, around the country when I can!!! I have been very fortunate to have made friends in the music business that have allowed me to have dinner with the Lovin' Spoonful (yes, and have Jerry Yester teach me the keyboard part to Summer in the City at my own piano!!), and the Raiders from Paul Revere and the Raiders (dinner discussion was all about dieting to fit into those spandex outfits!), and got to chat with Peter Noone (Herman's Hermite), Davey Jones (the Monkees) and be the chaufeur for Eric Burdon (The Animals!). for a performance here in Baton Rouge!
My passion for tennis has seen my team qualify for the state playoffs 3 times - but with my recent 3rd tennis injury (broken rt elbow) being so serious, I think my serious competing days are over. Now I'll just play for fun!
And a couple of years ago I started oil painting - just to decorate my beach condos but now I have an art studio that I go to in my spare time, and my art work has been juried into National Shows and I have won several prizes!!! I am represented at the Coastal Art Center in Orange Beach, AL! Check out my art on Instagram!
It is so fun to reconnect with old friends both here and on Facebook. I can be found on facebook as Pat Wattam. Visit me there too!
