Denise's Story
Life: Currently married 36 years. to Quentin Panek. (of Monroe High). We are both retired and look forward to more extensive travel... still have not been to Paris though we have traveled to Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria, parts of Mexico, New Zealand, as well as a trip to see polar bears in Churchill Manitoba. No children but still spoil my millenial god-daughter. I love cooking, road trips, good wine/winery visits, time with friends and, of course, I am still an animal lover. Quentin loves golf, movies, crosswords, music, trivia, my cooking and is a great road trip driver. We both are involved with various volunteer work. I have a securities license and previously worked in the trust dept./investment and planned giving fields. Quentin worked in the education field. After leaving the L.A. area, we lived in beautiful Monterey, CA for seven years and more recently in the Goleta/Santa Barbara area for the past 20 years. I finally sold the Mar Vista house I grew up in during the summer of 2019.... probably a mistake... Ha!
College
Denise has a double B.A. from U.C.L.A. in psychology & sociology (and almost had enough units ...Expand for more
for anthropology as well if she had completed the foreign language requirement). She earned an M.B.A. from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. 1998 Distinguished Scholar.
Quentin Panek (husband) earned his B.A. & a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from California Lutheran University.
Workplace
Denise holds a Series 7 securities license and earned an M.B.A. After working at Dean Witter for a few years, she went into institutional trust with Wells Fargo, working with pension plan audit and compliance issues. After one bank merger too many and a move to beautiful Monterey, CA she worked some time in the educational testing field. When Denise and Quentin moved to the Santa Barbara area for his career, Denise decided to work the non-profit side of things (mostly planned giving) until her retirement in 2020. She still likes to help with workshops on various aspects of estate planning.
Quentin Panek (husband) retired a few years earlier than Denise after working many years as a teacher, then VP, then High School principal and finally various district level Director positions, including Director of Special Ed.
