R.A.'s Story
After high school I went to College (Go Dawgs!) before beginning work full time. I went through warehouse management, retail management, hotel management and through dumb luck ended up in computers even though I swore I would never work on them. I plugged away at various things and ended up at the forefront of some of the world's cutting edge technology. I was on the team that implemented the world's first Internet bank. Everyone banks online because of me (You're welcome). I moved into airline technology and was a project lead on the implementation of the first online checkin system, among other things, so you don't have to wait in line (you're welcome, again).
I married later than all my siblings at the age of 32. I met the most wonderful girl from Douglasville who, it turns out, I already knew from 12 years prior when we worked at Six Flags together.

We adopted our second child, Brooks, in 2006. He has a genetic disorder called Norrie Disease and, as a result of it, is totally blind but you could never convince him of that. His smile lights up the room and he is always laughing. OK, maybe not always. He does have some lungs on him.
So, where I read about how folks I graduated with will be empty nesters soon I realize that I'll have kids at home till I'm in my 60's
I am now working as a Technical Project Lead for a major worldwide corporation (think Blue). Melisa and I live in the remote location of Winston, GA, west of Douglasville. We have some land and no neighbors, which is what I always wanted. I play softball and coach little league and have a ball doing it. Most recently I have become a Boy Scout Leader. That's right, I get to wear a cool uniform. That's the neat thing about having boys...living through them.
We go to the beach or Disneyworld any chance we get and enjoy just hanging out.
