Rachel's Story
Life
Well...after high school I tried the community college for two years and it just wasn't for me. My mother passed away in a motorcycle accident in 1998 (I know - mood killer). I bought a house in 2000 in O'Fallon, sold it in 2002. Got married in 2003 and moved to North Carolina. My husband is a Combat Engineer in the Army and we are stationed at Fort Bragg. He is currently in Afghanistan until May 2006. We have two fur children and are doing wonderfully! I am a State Training Coordinator with AFLAC - yep, the duck. I love it and have been in Aflac for almost four years now. I think that just about wraps up my life...oh, and my brother, for those of you who knew him - is going to SMSU...he's so grown up. I can't wait until the 10 year reunion. Hope everyone is doing well. Email me!!
School
As I said, I went to St. Charles Community College pre-med for two years and I just didn't like it. It...Expand for more
was an extension of high school, but not in a good way. I decided that my time would be better served working and learning the business world with the hands-on approach. I would love to go back to school, but only if I could get a degree to use with my career.
Workplace
I am currently the State Training Coordinator for Aflac. I train all the new sales people that come to work with us in Central North Carolina. I absolutely LOVE what I do and can't imagine doing anything else. I get to help people, talk all day long and get paid for it! I never thought I would be having this much fun in the "real world"...and I NEVER thought I would be doing ANYTHING that had to do with insurance. I hope everyone else is as blessed as I am with my job. My husband, JD, is an Engineer Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division here at Fort Bragg. He gets to blow things up and jump out of planes - that's about all I know.
