Rachel's Story
Life
I am presently stationed at Fort Hood in TX. I am adjusting but I miss my friends and son so much but IIWII. Home is where there Army says is my HOME.
Been here and there..... I think I am pretty well traveled. I have seen much of the U.S., lived in Texas, Florida, Diego Garcia (British Island), Philippines...I have briefly stepped foot on Hawaii, Alaska, Japan, Singapore, Madagascar, Bahrain and Italy. I have lived in Southern California for the past 14yrs. I love San Diego!!! Done this and that, some things I'm not too proud of but no regrets. I have the most wonderful son in the world!!!!.......Lots more to see and do. Wherever the road of my life takes me, I will embrace it and appreciate the people and experiences that may cross my path. I am a Jill of all trades, Master of none.....I have been in the Navy (9yrs), an Office Manager, Bartender, Cocktail Waitress, Food Server, Performance Chef (Art of Katsu), Sous Chef, Pastry Chef, attempted Real Estate Agent and my latest employ is that of a United States Army Soldier .....HOOAH!!!!! Life is full of twists and turns. Do you believe your life and its contents are pre-destined?
The one person I am the most proud of is my 17 year old superstar, my son, Michael. He is the love of my life and cannot fathom life without him. He is heaven sent and my little........Expand for more
not so little anymore HERO!!! I love you Booh!!
School
High School was a blurr for me......a very awkward stage.
College
I have been to a few colleges but it was never a party scene for me......I went mostly in the evenings after my workday.
Workplace
Read my life bio......you name it....I have done it!! Jill of all trades....Master of none.....well maybe some. I have enjoyed my worklife so far and wouldn't have done it any other way. I still do....online classes.
Military
I first acquired military experience by completing 3 years of Army JROTC at Edinburg High....shortly after graduation I left for Navy Boot Camp in Orlando, Fl. and onto a Navy School in San Diego, CA. My first duty station was spent in the Philippines for 2 years and then on to Diego Gargia (British owned Island) for 13 months. After my tour in Diego Garcia, I went to Navy Instructor School in Norfolk, VA. and then spent 4 years in Orlando, Fl. as a Boot Camp Company Commander. I spent 8 years on active duty with the Navy. I spent a year with the Naval Reserve, one year in the California Army National Guard and was able to assist with the Katrina Disaster in LA. I am presently in the Active Army stationed at Fort Hood, TX. I have over 10years of active duty time under my belt......in a nutshell that about sums up my military career.
