Rachel's Story
Life
I am currently a Leasing Professional at a local apartment community. I am married and have two daughters. I met my husband, Jay Sheehan, there at RAF Lakenheath in 1993. He worked at the gym and bowling alley. My oldest daughter Marléne (Mar-lay-nuh) is 12 years old and in the 7th grade. She is a great student all A & B's since kindergarten. My youngest daughter is 6 and her name is Kristianna (Kris-tee-ah-nuh) she is currently in 1st grade. We own a home and 3 acres in a rural area about 43 mi. NE of Little Rock, Arkansas. My husband works as a technical director (news) for our local ABC affliate, KATV Ch. 7. We hope to one day start a small production company. I have 7 nieces and 4 nephews and I have a nephew and either a niece or nephew on the way (I have 6 brothers and sisters (Jason, David, Joshua, Crystal, April & Ashley). One of my sister-in-laws also went to Lakenheath, Kimberly Sheehan. I still keep in regular contact with Danielle (Susie, Dani) Brown (class of 93). I have heard from or run into several people from Lakenheath since I left in 1993...Sean Fijalkowski (who married Kathy Miller), Charles (Chaz) Wiltse, Kawan Haskins, Robert (Robby) Davis, James Rice, Dobbie Herrion, and a few others. School
I went to school in the following areas; Montana (PS), Virginia (K-2), California (3-7), England (8&9), North Carolina (10) & Massachucetts (GED). Yes, I was a drop out. I recieved my GED in Dec. of 93, I should have graduated HS in May of 94. I regret my decsion to leave school, but what is done is done.
College
I attended ASU-Beebe for one semester, but left to go back to work. I hope to eventually obtain a degree in Journalism with a emphasis in Public Relations.
Workplace
Oh Man...I have done a ton of stuff. Mostly food service and stay at home mom. I tried the ARMY (not me!), greenhouse worker, food management, telemarketer, cashier, waitress, substitute teacher.... all the lovely jobs you can get with a G.E.D. Right now I am a Cingular cellular service sales rep...YEP! She sales cell phones! I have been doing that for about 2 years. I helped my husband get through college and he is the primary bread winner. I will go back to college eventually, got take care of some bills first!!!
Military
Tried the Army in 1997, wasn't me! They let me out for "failure to adapt". I just couldn't be like everyone else. You know in basic you can't even go to the bathroom alone???
