Rae's Story
My family left Winter Garden in 1964 right after my older sister, Taffy, graduated. I was on the swim team.
I went to visit Winter Garden last November -- I barely recognized WG, and certainly not Lakeview!! Big changes since Disney hit the area!! Where did all the orange trees go?
My dad had taken a job at the CIA, which is why we had moved to Maryland in '64. I finished high school up here (my graduating class was 1300 students! I was oh-so-very lost!!). I have stayed in the DC/MD area ever since. I live alone now after three marriages (I finally decided I'm allergic). My mother died in 2002, but my dad is in Arlington, VA, with my stepmom and is now 86!

am a manuscripts editor for the Division of Intramural Research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. I live in Rockville, MD (about 15 minutes from work) and have 3 cats. Mine is the perfect job for me -- I work 4 days/week and have a tiny office all my own (fountain, harp music) and edit biomed manuscripts. It would drive many people crazy -- I can go days without seeing another human being and actually could work at home. It is good for me to get up and walk around and interface, so I do go in except when the weather is really horrific (not too often).
That's about it; I love Ireland (especially the west coast) and Toscana and Umbria in Italia; italian, german, and most asian food; opera; ballet; murder mysteries
