Raecene's Story

Life 9/17/07 If you are reading this and you don't remember me you might know me as Raecene Fletcher. I am pleased to say that life right now is a happy one. I have a great husband & two amazing, & sometimes challenging children; my oldest son just became a teenager & my daughter just turned 10. We are a very active family. My son plays baseball, football, basketball, tennis, & golf as well as trained & ran the L.A. Marathon last year (2007). My daughter has played baseball, done cheerleading, plays tennis & is currently being trained for swim competitions. My husband works for his family business which is celebrating 20 years in business this year (2007). In addition he was the president for my sons little league for two years and is still a district umpire. He currently just gave up his seat on the league but is continuing to umpire for the district and assist in coaching my son's teams. 4/21/08 Well just an update on life. Last year (2007)was the hardest year of almost all of my 39 yrs. We discovered my son had a tumor in his tibia. On top of that it was discovered just before the holidays. After many tests and several specialist and two surgeries and lastly many prayers we found out it was benign. After physical therapy he is playing baseball again. We still have many appointments in order to watch for reoccurance but we are positive and happy the final results ended the way they did. I have permanently joined the family business again. My father-n-law has decided to try and retire and has put me in a position he hopes I will direct and guide the company towards the future. Life is crazy with my son get...Expand for more
ting ready to go into high school and my daughter going into junior high school. It is amazing how they grow - my son is 13, and stands at 5'11" and wears a size 13 shoe and my daughter seems to be catching up everyday (it's not polite to reveal a girls measurements :o) Things are busy as always but I definitely need to take more time for myself as I know we all do; which is why this year for my 40th it's hello Vegas with the girlfriends. Putting so much in my family definitely has an impact on my friendships, I need to find more time to connect with current friends but make the effort to make new ones as well. I hope everyone is doing well and I can't express enough how I welcome to connect with past classmates. It would be great to get caught up. Networking is always great personally and professionally. 2/3/09 Well things are plugging along and "no" I didn't make it to Vegas for the 40th celebration. Things just got too crazy. The economy is taking it's hit towards the business but we fell confident things will go in a positive direction. Kids are doing well, my son is having a hard time in a Catholic school, it was a little more challenging then he expected but we made it through mid-terms and now it's a fresh start. He loves the school and we know he will shine. My daughter has taken up waterpolo and is loving it. It is hard to believe this is what she is doing. Such a tough and rough sport for such a sweet little girl. Aside from the economy life is good. I have a terrific family and friends. I welcome networking and connecting with old friends. It is great to catch up and share our life journey.
