My Life;
Great memories of teachers, friends, band and sports from E.H.S.
After Emerson attended I.U. Northwest (Major was: Psychology) My two sisters, Marie received he MA. in accounting and works as a C.P.A. (Roosevelt U.) and Lianne received B.S. degree in computer science from Purdue and works for a local company.
I joined the Naval Reserve in 1968 went to active duty 1969-71. I was assigned to the aircraft carrier U.S.S. MIDWAY CVA-41 as the sixth man aboard the recommissioning crew. I Went to Vietnam aboard the aircraft carrier Midway. (ordered parts for, repaired and operated steam catapult systems). Returned to Indiana to be laid off at U.S. Steel Sheet & Tin mill as an overhead crane man then went to work for Lake County Highway Dept. as a heavy equipment mechanic and welder.
In 1974 Left to work in sales for Xerox Corp., and in 1980 left as a Senior Sales Executive for computer sales at Wang Laboratories (computer sales) and from (1984-1997) owned MicroTech Business Systems, Inc. in Valparaiso, IN. (sales/repair/installation of computers, networks and printers). I also handled information technology for a 130 attorney law firm with 130 secretaries in downtown Loop Chicago.
IN 1997, Married a lady, Lynne Carver from Provo, Utah and spent time in both Valparaiso and Utah where Lynne had a pet grooming salon and school. We also had a business selling orthopedic anti-fatigue mats.
I had closed MIcroTech and had 2 other flex jobs, one selling collections for an attorney in Valparaiso and the other delivering mobile grooming salons around the U.S. I often traveled with or met my wife as she judged and spoke at pet styling shows nationally and internationally.
I Have a 35 year old daughter, Cathy (previous marriage) who graduated with a PhD. In astrophysics from Univ. California, Santa Cruz. At 10 yrs. old, (to help give her confidence and knowledge) I taught her how to build and operate personal computers and use the internet. She was only a B-C student in grade school so, I challenged her to get ...Expand for more
on the honor roll. It worked and luckily for me she obtained scholarships for all years of college. At age 26, she wrote a program to count craters on Mars through the N.A.S.A. Mars Orbital Camera. She now works at Los Alamos National Laboratories as an astrophysicist/planetary scientist. She has been on Discovery Channel and British and American TV. One of her current projects is investigating how to destroy incoming asteroids with nuclear weapons with a team of international scientists from all over the world.. She is a blessed and successful part of my life! A career girl who loves her work but has not yet married! C'mon Cathy!

My wife, former wife, Lynne, sadly passed away from cancer in March of 2003 and I moved from Orem, Utah, to my home in Valparaiso. In spring of 2007, I sold my home in Valparaiso in 2007 and moved to Schererville, IN.
Retired from the Granger, Indiana company that manufacturers mobile dog grooming salons.
It was a fun job and I got to see 48 states of the U.S. at company expense! I now have visited all 50 U.S. states!
In October 2008, I married Arlette Kuczwara, an R.N. Arlette, like my previous wife, Lynne, Arlette was never previously married and has no children. We live in Schererville, Indiana. I was also first and now former President of Squadrons and Shipmates of the FDR/MIDWAY, Inc., an aircraft carrier reunion association with about 890 members and growing.
