Ralph's Story

Life After leaving UVA, I worked in Charlottesville for a couple years and then joined the USMC with tours both in the USA and overseas -- mostly involved in accounting and auditing. Next, I spent 30+ years with a Management Company. My last two assignments (23 years) where as a Controller for and then the General Manager of the Xerox International Training Center in Loudoun County, VA. Upon retirement eight years ago, I volunteered for four+ years with the local juvenile court (became the volunteer of the year). cation/needs student in a local Middle School. I hope to carry on with this for many years. I just celebrated my 35 wedding anniversary. We have three grown men - 34, 29, and 24. One a teacher, another is a heavy equipment operator and the youngest is a CIA agent heading overseas to an area that I wish he could stay away from. My wife Cheryl, graduated from Longwood with a business degree and then a Masters in Supervisory Education. Since, then she has earned several other degrees. She is A Techincal Resource Teacher with the local school systen (the fasting growing school system in the USA)plus an adjunct professor for UVA and GMU.
