Ralph's Story
Life
Check me out at InlandEmpireHOraceway.itgo to see more about what I'm doing now. When leaving the Marines in Camp Lejeune, NC in 1981, I moved to Southern Cal, as my parents had the prior year. I met a nice Mexican girl, as planned, and we married in 1985. Her name is Lena. We have 3 kids, ages 15, 17 and 18. Elyse, Jeremy and Michael are their names in ascending order of age. My daughter is the youngest, to make it easy. I consider us very blessed. My wife and I celebrated 22 years of marriage on May 4th, this year. I go by Mickey, the nickname that my Mom gave me as a baby. We'll have lived here, at the same house in Ontario, CA, for 21 years this Summer. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. In fact, I may be getting older, but I refuse to grow up. I'm currently a desk clerk at a hotel in Fontana, CA close to California Speedway. It's fun, but not where I would like to stay forever. I'm job hunting for something that allows me to apply my people skills, experience in sales, and even demeanor. It must also oblige my need for speed on the slot car track as I prefer weekdays, somewhat bankers hours, with an occasional evening or weekend to help solidify the relationship. I'm avoiding retail because of the hours, although that is where I have the most experience. I manage...Expand for more
d various retail places, mostly convenience stores, for over 14 years, collectively. I enjoy my private time with my wife. (we're still on our honeymoon) I head up a local HO scale slot car racing group here in So Cal and my website is dedicated to that. I love to write about my experiences and started my own website because a buddy asked me to keep his up. I was known as the keeper of the verbiage on the first site. I just started my own to fulfill my needs and it's been up for over 3 years now. It all revolves around our slot car racing hobby. This July my oldest son left for the Marines, like dad. Michael has now graduated from Marine Corps boot camp. He will learn to wrench on helicopters in the next year. Jeremy is a senior and will try to be accepted into an Ivy League school after he gradutes. We're focusing our efforts on getting him placed in the school of his choice. Elyse, now a Sophomore, has danced since she was about 3 or 4 and still enjoys it. She dances Tap, Ballet and Jazz. She's blossomed into a beautiful young lady. That's about it. I'd love to hear from anyone and usually respond within a day or 2.
Take care all --Mic (Ralph) I'm sorry, in advance, if I don't immediately remember who you are. Just remind me of what we did together. It should all come back to me. Later!!!
