Henry's Story
My Uni friends will remember me as a member of the school varsity basketball team, a mural artist (I led the mural project that was completed in our senior year), a multicultural social monster, and our class's MOST MELLOW and MOST MYSYERIOUS male (what was that about anyway?!!?).
After leaving high school, I went on the receive degrees at UC Berkeley and Harvard University.
Since then, I have been most happily married (for 20 years in July 2012) to Claudia Lenschen, a lovely German citizen who I met in Switzerland when I was studing international law. After great experiences living in LA, the Bay Area, Europe, and New York, we bought a wonderful little 10 acre ranch in the San Luis Obispo area in early 2008. We have no children, but we work extensively with local youth and provide love and care for a good number of farm animals on our ranch -- including 3 big dogs, 4 ...Expand for more
stray cats, an assortment of goats and sheep, and a flock of chickens.
I currently work as a management consultant to leading private foundations across the nation, as a civil rights historian, and as an occasional media commentator on human rights and social justice issues. I also paint original works of art that sell at galleries in New York City and Paso Robles, CA.
For the past several years I have served as a gubernatorially-appointed member of the California Community College System's Board of Governors. We oversee the policies, grants and contracts that help to support the State's more than 110 community colleges and their combined budgets totaling nearly $6 billion annually.
For more information on my latest news, please Google me (using the name Henry A. J. Ramos) and consult my art website. It usually pops up high on the list of hits appearing under my name.
