Randall's Story
After graduation I enlisted in the Air Force where I was a Combat Controller, and spent 2 1/2 years in and out of Vietnam as well as several other places around the world.. After I was discharged I went back to college, got a BA in telecommunications, worked for the local TV station for a while, got a BS (seems appropriate) and worked as a Sanitary Engineer (clean water, not garbage truck) for a while. Then I got an MS in Geology which I taught until I retired in 2012. Didn't know what I'd do, but seriously considered and arranged to be a part time ranger at Yosemite Nat'l Park, since I did my Master's thesis on the eastern side of the park. I'm married to a wonderful woman (she has to be to put up with me), have a daughter who's a flight attendant for American, and is the mother of two of my grandchildren, and a son who is a CPA ,and his wife, in the Dallas area, along with two more grandchildren. I'm still very physically active (can you...Expand for more
believe it?). I play competitive softball on three different teams, one a traveling tournament team, bike a lot, run when I can, do a lot of backpacking in the High Sierra's every summer, and occasionally climb a mountain (especially like the 14,000 footers). I coached high school football at Edison High School in Fresno, (won Central Valley Championship several times) with of all people, Tim McDonald as our head coach. Other than that I don't do much.
In 2012 we moved to McKinney Texas to be close to my other two grandkids, oh, and the son and daughter-in-law. Still doing everything above, plus being very active in our Church and volunteering at Children's Health Hospital in Plano, Texas, and I belong to a car club (I have a 2007 Roush Mustang). We also spend quite a bit of time in our travel trailer visiting a lot of places we've never been before and places I've been but my wife hasn't. She likes going new places and seeing new things.
