Randall's Story

Grew up in Panama, Taiwan, Ethiopia and Pakistan as a long-haired U.S. State Department brat. Went to West Point (majored in English, but had to take engineering, thermodynamics, etc.), so missed out on the great American college experience. Allegedly, it all built some character. Probably don't fit in with many people's stereotype of a career Army officer -- am actually even liberal on some issues. Have a somewhat more worldwide perspective than most. ept my head above water for 16 years in artillery, basic training, and information operations. Then, beginning in 2000, finally found my niche as a speechwriter. Did that for 5+ years, and retired from the Pentagon after writing 2 years for General Myers & not quite a year and a half for Secretary Rumsfeld. Transitioned to civilian life first at Georgetown University as speechwriter for President Jack DeGioia, then for the President, President-elect, and Immediate Past President of the American Medical Association. Now back in government writing for various leaders in national security. Married to a fantastic and beautiful wife; we have 3 amazingly cool and funny kids. Facebook is a lot easier to use and link up than Classmates, if you're an old friend or acquaintance. I'm listed as Randy Lee.
