July 69 moved to Oregon, glad tosay byebye to the concrete jungle. Was drafted Aug 70. Thot going airborne would help me get to Nam. Instead everyone graduating Jump School went to Ft. Bragg N.C. and into the 82nd airborne division. Spent my tour there, leaving as a Sgt. in Mar 72. back in Ore I soon broke into the logging industry, workin in the riggin, climbin, after a few yrs, cutting BIG wood w BIG tools. My falling saw had 138cc wa 6ft bar. We jacked those monsters into lays that saved the most of the tree. 1 ram will pick up 55tons I've had up to 6 rams in a tree. Cuttin is so phyisical you beef up hard as stone. I came to our 10yr reunion and noone knew who I was till they looked at my nametag. Boy I wish I had that body back again now. Cutting is the most dangerous , commercial crabbing is the hardest,brutal. after my stint on the ocean,I went back to cuttin til 92, then in Aug of that yr I moved up to montana to flee the Owls , tree huggers who distroyed a wonderful industry. There is so much fuel now from stopping every sale, even salvage blowdown, bugkill,that when one gets started, its gonna burn everything in its path clear to Canada. There'll be no stoppin it. I spent several yrs in Alaska, up on the n. slope runnin dozers , scrapers. We even took them out onto the sea ice.
