Randolph's Story

Life After my fun days at good old Averill Park High I tried college for awhile, but ended up joining the Navy Reserve. Ended up on San Clemente Island off the coast of Southern California as a boat coxswain driving a 36' patrol boat. Swam with wild dolphins, saw lots of grey whales and a few sharks here and there. By Dec 1971 I was back in NY, used the GI Bill to finish college, 1st HVCC and then finished up at Siena going nights, which took 5 years. Was working at NY Telephone at the time. Got married in 1974, divorced in 1979 and have 1 daughter. After I got my BS in 1981 I moved out to California and eventually ended up with AT&T in Los Angeles, then ended up in Pleasanton, CA. Worked for them over 18 years until got caught up in a Forced Management Retirement as part of their downsizing in 2002 and went out with benefits since I had the age and the years. I had been working with horses since 1985, and did a lot of cowboy stuff, along with a lot of trail and endurance riding. Found my Quarter type Palomino when he was 5 and called him Dillon. He is now 24. We have been all over CA, Oregon, Utah and Nevada and we have seen a lot of spectacular country. After AT&T, I moved ...Expand for more
up to Grass Valley, CA which is about 45 miles NE of Sacramento, up in the Sierra foothills. Real nice area, very western. You can literally ride your horse into town and tie up in front of the saloon. I bought a Kiger Mustang (Spanish) colt from some friends of mine up in Cave Junction, OR. I named him Brego and he was 6 months old when I got him. Well, things were going good until my mom started having some health problems in April 2004. So at the end of October 2004, I packed up my 2 horses and moved back to NY to see if I could help out. Quite a drive but we all got here in one piece. Mom is since doing much better, but it looks like I am committed here for awhile. Nice to be home though. Anyway, that is my story for what it's worth. Now that I am back in New York, I put some of my real estate background to work and became a Mortgage Broker for First Rate Funding in Albany. We are a 3rd party Wholesale Brokerage and so can we get better rates than retail. I work with a lot of vendors to get the best rates, so if any of you are trying to buy a home or refinance your current one let me know and I can help you. Give me a call at 518-452-4700 and we can talk about old times.
