Life
Biography, huh? I drifted through high school, undergraduate, and graduate... and wound up writing professionally. It pays the bills and allows me to play with family, dog, and 4x4s in fun places.
Workplace
By day, I supervise an internationally-distributed group of technical writers at VeriFone. Together, we write the manuals that nobody reads... seriously, when's the last time you read the instructions? By night, I'm the Managing Editor for 4x4Wire.com, an enthusiast-driven website for 4x4 and SUV owners. This job provides excitement and allows me to deduct much of an expensive hobby/business, but the income is modest.
Balancing these two jobs pretty much fills my time, but I squeeze in service on the boards of two non-profit corporations, and try to get outside to play as often as I can. Most of my travels are 4x4-related, but I liberally add in hiking, sailing, and canoeing. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, right?
