Randy's Story

Life Well, let's see, where to start? After high school I went to work for Stauffer Chemical Company in Los Angeles. I worked there one year then quit and went to work at Imperial Iron Works in Compton and worked there for 3 years. I then worked 6 years as a truck driver and supervisor for National Drinks in Gardena. in 1969 I began working in the construction industry and worked at that until I retired in February of 2000. I was married in 1961 to a girl from Bellflower, we had 3 wonderful children, but divorced in 1964. I obtained full custody of the children and raised them on my own until I met a widow with 3 kids of her own in 1969. It was not love at first sight, but we met just before Memorial Day, and by the end of July we were Married. the kid's ages fell perfectly into place, we had them 1 year apart ages 4 to 9. When we enrolled them in school in Norwalk, we had one in each grade 1 thru 6. Open house was a bit of a problem. In 1970 we had one of our own together. When we first married in 1969 we bought a house in Norwalk, but by 1972 it was not big enough, so we bought a bigger, nicer home in Downey and raised our kids there until 1987 when we moved to Moreno Valley in Riverside County. At the time I was manageing our Company offices in San Diego and Riverside so the location was much more convienient than Downey. Harriet and I have been married since 1969 and raised 7 wonderful children with 10 beautiful grand-children. My wife was a stay at home mother for all of those years and did a great job of keeping the kids on the straight and narrow. They all turned out great and we are very proud of all of them. ne from home now, but return frequently for visits and to help Mom retain her sanity. Since My retirement, Being together 24-7 has gotten a little much for her, so now she goes to our daughters house every day after school to baby sit our grandkids. And goes shopping with our daughters at every opportunity, anything to get out for a while, I don't understand it, I'm not that hard to get along with, or am I? I have a Golden Retriever dog and a spaniel mixed breedthat never tire of me, and stays by my side night and day. We have a large pond in the far back corner of our property where we raise Koi Fish, I don't know why, we never sell any of them. But they are beautiful and we enjoy just sitting out there and watching them swim around. We spend a lot of time traveling around to our Grandkids activities and events. Life is Good! August 4, 2011 Update...Not much has changed, I still have my dogs, koi fish, kids, grandkids, wife and home. I just read where the stock market dropped 500 points today, so who knows for how long, LOL. Since I last updated this we haave got 3 new great grandsons and 1 great grandaughter, first thing you know we are gonna have a big family, LOL.I'm not one to rave on and on about how great my kids and grandkids are in their respected endeavors, BUT, I do need to say I'm extremely proud of all of them. Oh yeah, we now have a hampster, and a shitzu, and she shits too. My wife thinks I spend too much time on the computer on facebook reminiscing with my old friends from Compton. I told her I could be spending my time on porn sights, and she said You probaby already are. I don't know why that woman doesn't trust me.
