Randy's Story
After leaving Thousand Oaks HS went to Ventura Junior College and transferred to University of California, San Diego. Upon graduation worked as a polymer research chemist for three years while doing Chemistry in grad school at San Diego State University - never graduated from SDSU as I moved to Glendale, CA to take a job at a pharmaceutical company, McGaw Labs. Transferred to Irvine, CA for 2 years before transferring to Sabana Grande, PR as Quality Control Manager. After 4 years, transferred back to Irvine, CA with new wife. After 6 months in Irvine, recruited by Eli Lilly pharmaceutical as Director of Quality Control and Regulatory Affairs in La Jolla, CA. nsferred 2 years later back to La Jolla, CA as Director of Operations and started up a maquiladora operation in Mexico. Three years in those jobs was transferred to Puerto Rico to buy some land, build a facility and hire 300 people - located facility in Dorado, PR. Transferred after 4 years to Saint Paul, MN as VP of Manufacturing. Indicated to company that with two young boys in grade school I didn't want anymore transfers. Had responsibility for St. Paul and Dorado operations and also opened up a new facility in Clonmel, Ireland. After 13 years and 2 million miles of flying on Northwest and Delta I retired in 2006. Split our time between homes in North Oaks, MN and La Quinta, CA. Spending time playing golf and with grandchildren. Life is good.
