Randy's Story

Life Hi! I don't think anyone remembers me but I do recall most of the names on the list. I am a Flowback foreman for GMX Resources (Oil & Gas) in Marshall,Tx., married faithfully for the last 24 years (Anita Lynn Graves) and have two children, Bryan Lee (15) and Anna Elaine (14). We are currently building our dreamhouse on 15.5 acres of secluded land 5 miles east of Woodlawn, Texas. Cannot wait to get out of the city! When I left Fair Park, I figured I would eventually get drafted, so I joined the U.S. Navy and served 4 years as a Cryptologic Technician. Completed "A" and "C" schools in Pensacola, Florida. Served in Guam and Misawa, Japan. Came home in 1978 and spent 5 years in college, then married in 1983. Enjoy scuba, fishing, hunting, collecting antique hand tools and just being with family and church friends. I would like to answer the "Story Ideas" questions. Idea #1 - What would surprise everyone about me? Probably that I was a 125 pound skinny nerd my senior year. I was a year younger than most of my classmates as I started school early and was not through growing. I left the Navy at 195 pounds, 5'10" tall and in good shape. I boxed some and got to purple belt in Shodekan karate in Japan. Played a lot o...Expand for more
f baseball, football and tennis also. Idea #2 - Cannot think of any particular teacher I would like to see. Idea #3 - Wildest thing I did in school was wrap copper wire to 6 metal stools in Science class and when other classmates sat down I plugged the wire into the wall and gave them a shocking experience. Idea #4 - My first crush was my sweetheart (Nina W.) who went to rival Byrd High. I heard a few years ago that she was whellchair bound from a neurological disorder. I am unable to locate her. Idea #5 - I hope my classmates remember me for never treating anyone unkind. Idea #6 - I'm doing now what makes me happy. Idea #7 - The biggest surprise in my life was the life I began to have after I gave my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and became a Christian in 1982. I would not go back to my life before, for anything. Idea #8 - My one do-over would be to have stayed in the Navy and retire (and still meet my wife). My Navy job turned out to be the most satisfying job I have had. Idea #9 - Have not had any weird jobs. Idea #10 - I have lived in this same house for the last 24 years. Hope you are all well! Have good memories of the ole "Black & Gold". Would love to hear from any of you! God Bless!!!
