Randy's Story
Life
I taught Biology, Social Science & Physical Education for 21 years at the high school level and work and live in the central valley here in California and I just completed my 8th year as the principal of the continuation high school and most recently as a District Administrator for the past three school years. I am married to my wife Becky (36 yrs) and have four sons,12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Over the past 30 years I have worked at my high school as a head varsity baseball coach (10 years); defensive coordinator for the varsity football team (1 year); head varsity softball coach (3 years); head varsity girl's basketball coach (5 yrs.); and head JV volleyball coach (12 years) and have recently retired from coaching at school and now spend my time playing the drums and watching sports activities (especially when one of my sons or grand-kids are playing) whenever & wherever possible.
My 35 year old son, Brian, has recently put his proverbial cleats up on the shelf from professional baseball and he is married to Breanne (10 years ago). They had their first baby boy (Sawyer) 6 years ago in September and their second boy (Aris) is 4 years old now. Brian completed his Master's Degree in Psychology but prefers to work in sales. My 32 year old son Kevin has three children (Jacob, June 2014), his older sister (Chloe, August 2011) and baby brother Liam (December 2019)! Kevin was a computer programmer just like his oldest brother David, but has just changed career paths and is now a teacher at a high school taking after his dad....Expand for more
David, my oldest son who is 43, is married to Kara and they have 3 wonderful children (Rebekah, Nate & Aliyah). David is a very successful computer programmer. My son Rex, 42 years old, has 4 beautiful children (Jeremiah, Wynter, Karma and Soiarse). Rex is a butcher at a large meat company and is the manager of his department. Those are all my life line. I love them all very much! My oldest grand daughter Wynter recently graduated from high school in June 2018. She now is a mom to my great grandson Westley (April 2020).
After high school and after much traveling I settled down in Fresno and attended Fresno State University and graduated number one in my class in 1987. I then completed my teaching credential in 1988. I returned to Fresno State in 1993-94 and earned my Master's Degree. My latest news is that I earned my Administrative Credential (9-10 years ago). I am now a high school administrator and I know how it feels to be in charge of a school and put up with all the stressful stuff that goes on behind the scenes. UPDATE: I retired at the end of the 2017-18 school year. Time to relax!!!
School
My favorite teacher at Antioch High was Mr. Morelli. Mr. Morelli really made a difference in my life and I sincerely thank him. He taught geography and he was my jv basketball coach. I also liked coach Mike Hurd even though I gave him a hard time. My all time favorite teacher was Mrs. Kruz who was my kindergarten class teacher at Heights Elementary School in Pittsburg, CA. Thank you for all you did for me. You guys are the BEST!
