Randy's Story
Life
Friends,
It's been a great thirty-year ride since walking out of the north end zone of the football field in June of 1974. After UVA for college and medical school and University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham for residency/fellowship, Sherryl and I came to Winston-Salem where I have practiced gastroenterology from 1987 until now. My work is very demanding but very fulfilling. Sadly, the principalities and powers are making it much harder to do this noble profession with as much joy as when I started - I tremble at what it is going to be like to find someone to take care of us as Baby-Boomers on Medicare! Yet, I am privileged to have been able to do what I've done professionally.

d from UVA this May. She will work for year and go to law school in the fall of 2008. Stephen completed his first year of college at UNCA and will transfer to Boston University this fall. Sherryl teaches reading to second graders. We go to movies and plays and dinner with friends, and we do too much church work but it's a good thing to do! I love to ride bicycles for exercise and fun and have dabbled in triathlon a little (where I swim like a rock.) A good friend and I are going to Colorado in August to climb mountains on bicycles including Mt. Evans where the road tops out at 14,200 ft. Since I might not survive that trip, I thought I should post this for posterity!
