Randy's Story
all through high school all i wanted to do was join the army. well, as life would have it, i got turned down. my eyes are not to good. thats ok though. after that i went to work at a& b motors in amite. about 10 years ago i got into geneology to see if i had anyone serve in the war between the states, history was my best subject when i was in school. well i have documented 12 close relatives so far that served for the south. some from mississippi on my dad's side, and some from louisiana from my mother's side. i also had kin that fought in the rev. ...Expand for more
war, as well as in the war of 1812. my interest has lead me to discover about 7 new cousins that i had never ment until recently. i am a life member of the sons of confederate veterans, and presently commander of campmoore camp # 1223 in tangipahoa. i also do volunteer work at the museum, 10 years as a full time volunteer, now as a part time volunteer. i am a advid reader on military history, but i must admite that the puter, and dvd and vhs vhs tapes has cut down on my reading. have about 500 books in my personal library. about 35 i had autographed.
