Randy Schumacher:  

Upon graduation from LSHS, Randy enlisted in the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Power Submarine program and earned the Secretary of the Navy nomination to the United States Naval Academy in 1977. Upon graduating from Annapolis with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Randy spent a 20 year career as a Naval Aviator. He traveled the world. 3 times around visiting and/or living in 72 countries. He ended his flying career as a squadron commander of a logistics and SPECWAR squadron stationed throughout Europe and the Middle East. His most memorable assignment was as an Aircraft Commander during Operation Goldenrod, September 13 1987 was the date of the capture of Fawaz Younis, a Lebanese terrorist. This event was later declared the first operational strike on the war on terror.
