Ranell's Story

I married my high school sweetheart, Randy "Moon" Wempren, 28 years ago. We have 2 daughters, Jenny & Jamie. We lived in Laplace for many years and have moved to Ponchatoula. We've been here for the past 13 years and love it. We now have 4 grand children...1 grand-daughter and 3 grandsons. Life is grand. Randy and I do alot of things together. Our home is known as "party central" to our family and friends. On any given weekend we're in our shop with the grill going, playing pool on a table that's probably older than we are, throwing back a few cold ones and having a blast. My favorite thing to do is ride on our 4 wheeler. There's nothing like the wind in your hair that makes you forget everything else. I work for the great State of Louisiana in Amite as the DMV office manager. I enjoy what I do and really like the little town I'm in. The people are friendly and make you feel really welcomed (most days). I've made many good friends in that town. My plan for the future is to continue to climb the ladder of success. A bigger office, another town, another position.....Who knows what I'll be doing next time I update this. I do live a good life. I have a great husband who I love more today than I did when we met. I have 2 beautiful, intelligent daughters. And the icing on the cake are the 4 munchkins I call my grand kids. Life and Love really are grand!!!! ****June 15, 2009**** As a child, I was always a tomboy. I have 1 brother with whom I was inseperable. We did alot of things together, growing up in the country. We would play with toy cars and trucks under the house. We loved to play in the canefields that we lived in the middle of. I remember one time we went into the cane field to the cow pasture at Judge Kliebert's place. Herb, my brother, had his new pellet gun and was shooting birds. I was not allowed to shoot the new gun so when Herb shot a bird that went into the cow pasture, I convinced him that he had to go in and get it. We were watching the mean old bull as Herb slowly crept up on the injured bird. All of a sudden a rabbit jumped out of the brush he was walking by. The next thing I knew, the gun went one way, Herb went the other way, and the rabbit ran away. That was truly a Kodak moment!! Herb swears to this day that he knew the rabbit was there but from the look on his face, he was in complete shock. I bet he was glad no one could see his underwear!!! That is a childhood memory that I will never forget as long as I live.***** *****October 10,2009******* As the hands of time continue to turn, I realize just how lucky I am. ove more now than I did when we were kids..2 daughters who are very successful that have given me the world's most beautiful and handsome grandchildren. I am very successful in my career as is my husband. We are not financially wealthy but happiness cannot be measured in dollars and cents...it is measured in memories and loving...and in that sense we are millionares!!!! I have my parents who I love very much and 3 siblings that I don't know what I'd do without. That's not to mention the extended family...the aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends who are so close you consider them family. Yep, we definately are millionares.....I thank God for every day he gives us all together. :) ****** 01/17/2010 Hope everyone had a great holiday season. Our house was the usual busy place. I took time out though to stop, look, and listen and I was amazed at what I saw. The grandkids are growing up so fast. Before we know it they will be graduating from high school and off to college, starting their own lives... It scares me to think of them as being grown .. we always want to keep them young, just like our parents did and their parents before them. I suffered so much loss these past couple of years that I really appreciate everyone in my life and want things to stay the same forever. Nobody leaves, nobody passes away, we just stay happy forever... man what a dream.. but it is a good one. Point being, don't take anything in your life for granted ... tomorrow is not promised to any of us .. treasure each and every second .. don't sweat the small stuff .. we all get over our broken egos .. our banged up emotions .. don't miss out on any oppurtunity to tell someone how you really feel about them .. you may not get a second chance. I tell Moon every day that I love him .. more than once most days.. I kiss my kids and grandkids every chance I get and tell them how much I love them .. Life is too precious to let moments like those pass us by. Tomorrow my precious first born child turns 28 years old. I love her more and more everyday .. if that is possible. She makes me proud to say "I raised that child". Every one needs to feel that way about their children. ****** ****** August 22, 2011 ***** Its hard to believe that its been 30 years since we graduated high school. I have been married to my sweetheart for 30 years now. We have 2 beautiful daughters and 4 wonderful grandchildren who are growing like weeds. Before we know it we will be having graduations from high school again for them. Life is grand. Thank God for all the good in your life everyday ... I do. *******
