It's amazing how things don't seem to work out the way you think they will in school. After high school, I went to Kent State and majored in Music Education. I ended up leaving college after three years when I found out my oldest son had cerebral palsy. I've worked since then. I've been a clerk at Dairy Mart and been a store owner of two Dairy Queen restaurants. I found out fast food is NOT for me. I also worked for the local Chamber of Commerce. I'm currently the Economic Development director in Preston County, WV. It's a great job for someone who doesn't know what they want to do when they grow up. I get to work with engineers, lawyers, mayors, business people, congressmen,univerisities, the governor, etc... I have learned about buildings, installing water and sewer, business retention, demographics, website development, sawmills, farmland protection, tourism, grant writing, wood production; the list goes on and on.
