Ray's Story

Life I broke my neck in Jan. 2005 and that gave me the excuse to retire. I live on 40 acres in northern New Mexico(cleaner than old Mexico!!!) west of Taos and would like to have a horses. Traveling makes it hard to have somebody watch the animals though. I traveled to Europe for the first time and it was fun. I went to 13 countries in two different trips. Found out that the ancestors probably immigrated or got kicked out from Scotland....Armstrong is a big name there. I would like to visit Russia, Galapagos Islands, more of Europe and the Mediterranean. Maybe even go back and see what Vietnam looks like now. I don't care to see anything of the Mid-East at all. I like driving my Hot Rod, building, flying model airplanes and target shooting. I got drafted into the Army and almost into the Marines, but one guy finally volunteered. The Judge, DA and the Tucson Police thought it would be a real good idea for me to go into the military. They were just looking for warm bodies in early 1968 and I ended up in the Airborne Infantry. It paid $55.00 a...Expand for more
month extra to jump out of perfectly good airplane. I had lawyer I needed to pay off and they payed more money if you went to Vietnam so I went there for a year. I've worked in construction as a laborer, gas fitter, plumber and an electrician. I lived in the San Francisco bay area for 18 years. I went back to college and got a degree in Mortuary Science. Owned a Funeral Home for awhile and even worked as a maintenance man at an elementary school, K-3rd. That was fun because the kids were sweet and still had respect for the teachers. I have 3 kids. My oldest girl is a topless dancer, oh well!!!. My youngest daughter will graduate Dec. 2007 from ASU with a degree in Nursing. My son after 9 semesters at U of A in Tucson in Computer Science Engineering is at ITT Tech learning computer security. He just got married and his wife just graduated with a degree in Computer Science Engineering. All and all I have had a good life with a few ups and downs....divorce....and can't complain. If I did complain nobody REALLY wants to hear you sniveling!!!!
