Ray's Story

Life I have three kids. Raymond the 3rd(I'm the II), Kathleen, and Joshua. All of my kids are in their teens. My oldest will Graduate HS in 2005! I'm feeling pretty old. All three of my children live with me. I'm a single parent, and I love my children very much. I joined the US Air Force right out of HS, Jan 87. I enlisted for 6 years. I was stationed at Castle AFB, Merced Ca, and I worked on flight instruments on B52 aircraft. At the end of my enlistment, I received an Honorable discharge, and never wanted to step foot on another plane/aircraft for along time! My base was one of the busiest airbases in Stratigic Air Command! When I arrived, we had so much work it was BACKLOGGED! It took along time to catch up on all the work. I've been a on and off again, part time college student for along time. Being a full time father and working full time makes schooling difficult. I've had to withdraw a few times. I have enough credits for my 2 year degree, however I do not have all the required courses. I still want to complete my AA degree, and hope to by next year. I've had some good times and bad, I've loved and lost, I've also loved a woman and never told her how I felt, I've been kicked when I've been down, and found out the hard way that no situation is ever so bad...that it can't get worse. I've climbed the mountain, opened the door and reached for "the brass ring", just to have the door slammed in my face and I rolled all the way back down the mountain. But if life has taught me anything, it's thi...Expand for more
s: Tough times pass, life goes on, AND IT AIN'T OVER TIL THE FAT LADY SINGS!!! I'll leave you with this: You only need 3 things in life. God, Love, & Hope. If you don't have them, find them. They can get you thru ANYTHING! School Who was my biggest crush? I'll have to plead the 5th. It was more than a crush, and I never told her how I felt. Which teacher inspired me the most? I'd have to say Mr. Curran my Junior year English teacher. He was both smart and crazy. He made his class fun and challenging. My funniest and craziest memories would have to be spirit week. Especially senior year. So many of us were involved and getting along with each other(at least it seemed that way to me), getting crazy and going all out. It was a blast. I am thankful for all of my friends I had back then, and thankful for the friends I still have...Jarrod Suth, Mike Foreman, Jim Foreman, Dave Johnson, Dennis Franklin, & Rick Lewis. God bless us all. Workplace I still want a career in Law Enforcement. Peace Officer or Correctional Officer. I did work for The City of Alameda Police Department as a jailer for a time, and would very much like to get back into that field. I am currently in a related field, however I very much would like to work for a Sheriff's Department somewhere in California or Nevada. Military It was a worthwhile experience, however I wish I'd had gone in Law Enforcement instead of electronics. Criminal Justice is/was my major. I should have received training in the career field I am going into.
