Ray's Story
Life
Hi Everybody,
I am down here in LA (Lovely Alabama) where I gave resided since 1979 excluding two years I was in Jackson Mississippi.
After graduating from AU, I taught in Akron for three years before moving to Ft. Pierce, Floride to teach school and coach football. From Ft. Pierce, I went to The University of Miami where I got my MA and coached the Hurricanes. After leaving Miami, I took a coaching job at Iowa State University where I stayed for five year and three bowl games. From there I went to coach in the World Football League until it folded. I taught for a short time before taking a coaching job at Michigan State. From Michigan State, I got my first head coaching job at North Carolina Central for a year and then took the head coaching job at Alabama A & M University. (That's how I ended-up in Alabama.) I coached at A & M for nine years. We had ...Expand for more
a lot of success and I got out while on top to take a job as as assistant to the Mayor in Huntsville, Alabama. For the past fourteen years I have been at that position. I didn't give-up coaching however until this past year. For the last four years, I coached in the Arena Football League as my "moonlighting" job.
I quit that this year to relax , do some fishing and enjoy myself in my old age.
I have been married (to the same woman) since 1966 My wife, formerly Patricia Bridges (she went to Garfield) and I have two grown children and four grandchildren. I am in good health and hope to live to a hundred and ten.
By the way classmates, I came to the last reunion but no one showed-up so I we went to Tangiers to eat. I found out later that some of you were there at the same time. Sorry we missed each other.
Let me hear from you.
Love ya!
